Db - Letter to retailers
To our retail partners.
From January 11th we will change our brand name from Douchebags to Db.
Our original name got us a start, back when we were sewing products in our apartment and packing boxes ourselves to send to our first customers. It raised eyebrows and shocked some people. But it did grab your attention, and it did stick. You could even say it helped us survive in those early years.
But times have changed, and so have we. In this year of dramatic change and upheaval we lean forward into a new decade. We have been building Db for 10 years, and today it is the brand mark we feature on all of our products. The time is right for us to become Db.
Of course we are still who we are; innovative, playful, and all about change. But it’s time we welcomed our growing female audience, native english speakers across the globe, and anyone who found our name a little… off.
So what does Db mean?
Well, Db can mean whatever you want! That’s the fun part. The part where we get to play together. Because we believe in journeys that change you, and that our brand ultimately belongs to you and your customers. So let’s make it personal, let’s make it fun, let’s leave it up to you.
Deliciousbagels. Why not? Dramaticbreathing? Maybe a bit much… Deletebusy? Yes, please.
So don’t go getting a tattoo just yet, because Db is always on the move.
No matter what happens, you can trust that it’s always Db. Because Db is the driver of agility, evolution, and change in our brand. It’s how we journey and how we bring you along for the ride.

What do I need to do?
- Replace the word Douchebag or Douchebags with the word Db on all of your sales material on your website and advertisements.
- Replace the word Douchebag or Douchebags with the word Db on your URL slugs
- Update your ads from our approved ads in the Db media portal.
- Always use the Db logo as provided in the Db media portal.
- Never use the douchebags wordmark.
- Tell us what you think Db should be, we might just do it.
